Our Instructors

The Head Instructor of  Kantetsu Ryu Karate is Fred Altensee.  Mr. Altensee studied Judo briefly as a child and began training in TaeKwonDo in 1975 while living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1980, Mr. Altensee began studies under Wayne Lorance and Roland Tinkes at Olympic Karate.  In 1985 he began teaching karate while continuing his training. Fred Altensee is also a state certified instructor in Police Defensive Tactics.

Kathy Putnam, sensei,  earned her black belt in TaeKwonDo and nidan in Kantetsu Ryu Karate and has many years experience in the Martial Arts. She has completed instructors training under Mr. Altensee and Mr. Tinkes.

Mr. Jeff Bush, sensei,  has studied Kantetsu Ryu Karate for over five years and is now an instructor. Mr. Bush's enthusiasm and energy are contagious and his students always receive a great workout.
