Teachings of the Masters
May 2001

Excerpts from the I-Ching

The best time to resolve a conflict is at the beginning.  Disengage your ego and you will meet with good fortune.

Do not pause in your progress to bask in admiration or anticipate results.  Clinging to modesty affords you a greater success.

Express your knowledge in your conduct rather than in your words.

Disdain for those below or envy of those above prevents progress.  Strive not to achieve a goal or to have an influence, but to embody proper virtues.  In this way success is assured.

Do not seek to impress or influence others.  Meet them, instead, with sincerity, simplicity, and openness.  In this way success is assured.
